The popular Kew Bridge Steam Museum Model Boat Show is set to drop anchor on the weekend of 28th & 29th April.
The event presents model boats in all shapes and sizes, from warships, sailing vessels, merchantmen and paddle steamers, to models of sea-going ships and river craft. The centre piece of this year's show will be large scale models of the Medway Queen and HMS Vanguard, Britain's last battleship. The exhibition contains trade stalls, a demonstration pool with a radio control ‘have a go’ sessions, craft activities as well as the chance to ride on the museums’ steam railway. The show is the ideal opportunity to discuss ideas and techniques with like-minded enthusiasts, to browse the sales stalls and watch the magnificent resident steam engines in action, including a Hathorn Davey triple expansion engine of a similar design to marine power plants.
