Waterworks at War - 8th & 9th October

IMGP0722Kew Bridge Steam Museum will be turning back the clock to the 1940s once more for its annual Waterworks at War weekend on October 8th and 9th, when the museum will be hosting demonstrations and presentations as part of its living-history event focussing on life on the home front during the second world war.

Infernal Combustion! returns

AllenKew Bridge Steam Museum is pleased to announce Infernal Combustion! A Celebration of Internal Combustion Power taking place on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th September 2011 between 11.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.

Over the weekend of the of 10th & 11th September the Museum, more usually noted for its world-famous collection of steam engines,  is holding an event focussed on the internal combustion engine.  Large and small, petrol and diesel, we will be highlighting the diversity of the static internal combustion engine and the wide variety of uses they were put to before electric motors became commonplace.

An evening with: BB Black Dog

To celebrate the launch of their album, BB Black Dog will be touring the UK later this year and we have managed to secure an intimate gig with them on Friday 18th November 2011.

Come along to Kew Bridge Steam Museum to experience this fabulous band in an unique venue. Doors open at 7.15 p.m. and there will be a bar and snacks available.

Our first round Heritage Lottery bid has been successful

Kew Bridge Engines Trust and Water Supply Museum Limited are pleased to announce that they have been successful in being awarded a development grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) of £127,600 in order to work up plans for a bid of just under £1.8million. Together with funding already agreed from Thames Water Utilities Ltd. this first-round pass from HLF will enable the Trust to proceed with the detailed planning phase of their proposals for re-developing the Museum. In reaching this position the Trust would like to thank Thames Water Utilities Ltd. for the previous support received from their “Ten for Ten” Community and Environmental Support Fund which has enabled the Trust to carry out the necessary research and planning activities to achieve this successful outcome.
