Project Aquarius Overview

Kew Bridge Steam Museum is pleased to announce that as of April 2012 it has secured a £1.845 Million award via the Heritage Lottery Fund.

This combined with the added contribution our partners Thames Water have already pledged means we are ready to start a £2.2 million family friendly re-development of the Museum.

This will improve it further as one of London's unique visitor attractions, celebrating the amazing story of London's water supply and the people, objects and history behind it which span over 2000 years.

Our 'Project Aquarius' proposals will include; rebranding the museum to reflect its heritage waterworks theme, new educational displays across all areas, bringing the history of the pumping station and its engines to life, a major new gallery exhibition on London's water supply; past, present and future, new education facilities, new free access cafe and visitor shop, new fun watery interactive exhibits & working models, new historic electric pumping machinery display, new community exhibition space, major landscaping works, completion of historic building repairs and new locomotive and refurbished fire engine sheds.

We want to increase our visitor and volunteer numbers to help ensure this amazing Museum continues to flourish and prosper, fully involving the local community with a range of new exhibitions and regular widely themed events.

We want to hear what YOU think! We want YOU to get involved and we want YOU to help as raise our 'match funding' contribution of £ 186,000. So please leave comments in our feedback section and contact us to help with volunteering or fundraising.
