Community & Multi Use Display Space
With the proposed relocation of the existing cafe to the new shop area at the Museum's main entrance, the old cafe will be refurbished to provide much needed flexible accomodation space which can be used for a variety of purposes, both during and outside Museum hours.
Temporay exhibitions, art shows, public meetings, themed events, lectures, community uses, school visit lunch provision, childrens parties. The room originally constructed as a boiler house will be equiped to suit and will have much needed roof repairs, including the removal of the non original false ceilng which will create a brighter space and a view of the Victorian roof structure.
