The museum welcomes group visits
seven days a week throughout the year. Special weekday steamings
of the engines can be arranged if you are unable to bring your
group at a weekend.
We are also now able to offer Wednesday evening visits.

Visit Options
Outlined below are some of the visit options we currently offer
groups, but we are always happy to discuss your individual requirements.
Incentive activity programmes or added value tours to areas not
seen by the public are being developed. GroupNews, our
new group newsletter, will publish details in due course. (for
more information about GroupNews, please refer to our
group booking form)
A self-guided visit.
Cost: Admission prices less 10% for a group of between 10 and 39
people. For groups of 40 people or over there is a discount of
15%.
Alternatively, for an extra charge of £30, one of our expert
guides can be booked to take you around the museum. Tours usually
last about 1 1/2 hours, but can be tailored to suit your needs.
A special weekday steam
up of our engines with a guided tour.
Cost: £150+ VAT for a 'mini' steam, £220 + VAT for
a 'full' steam (which includes the 90" engine), plus admission
charge and £30 for a guided tour if required. Again, our
admission discounts apply.
Facilities for Groups
We can provide free on-site coach parking for most visits.
We also offer a Sandwich Buffet Lunch for weekday visits (when
our cafe is normally closed). Details of this service vary.
You will be sent information with your booking confirmation. Please
indicate your interest in this service on our booking form. We have Brief Museum Guide leaflets available in French, German,
Italian, Dutch and Spanish, in addition to an English full colour
guide book.
Admission Discounts
10% off normal admission prices for groups of 10-39
15% for groups of 40+.
Admission discounts are only available for pre-booked groups,
using the official museum booking form. A booking deposit of £20
is required for all group bookings.
Access for Visitors with Special Needs
There is ramped or level access to 80% of the Museum plus a wheelchair
accessible toilet and a wheelchair loan service.
For visually impaired visitors, the Museum has produced a large
print brief guide and touch tours can be arranged for pre-booked
groups.
Weekend Special Events
Groups are welcome at these events, but we regret we cannot offer
guided tours or guarantee coach parking on these dates. Please
check our Special Events listings for
dates of this year's events.
Other Local Attractions
While you are in the area, why not combine your visit with a trip
to nearby Fullers Brewery, London's oldest working brewery. The
engines at this Museum once supplied water to the brewery and
now you can visit both attractions in one day. Unfortunately
coach parking at the brewery is difficult. However, groups choosing
to visit both attractions on the same day may arrange to send
their coach back to our Museum's car park, provided they have
visited us first. If you wish to take this option please enquire
for the special pack covering this option. Other popular visit
combinations with our museum include Kew Gardens, the Musical
Museum, Syon Park and Kempton Steam Museum. It is also possible to visit the museum
by river, disembarking at Kew Pier.
